Hello, I’m Sarah. I’m so pleased that you’re here. Pull up a chair and let me show you around.
Like a story, life is written one page at a time. Welcome to one chapter of mine. I started Chronicles of a Wooden Spoon as a way to catalog my favorite recipes. So many of my most treasured memories were born while sharing good food with great friends and family. Food is the best way of bringing people together. Knowing this, I wanted to create a place where I could house my recipes to pass onto future generations and to share them with all of you, who will hopefully do the same.
Here you will find a myriad of recipes- ranging from savory to sweet. Made primarily from scratch, they are approachable and unapologetically delicious. Impressive recipes can be made by anyone using fuss-free ingredients already on hand and requiring little prep work. Oh, and minimal dishes, because sometimes a sink-full of dishes is just too much to handle at the end of a long day. Who’s with me?
We will fearlessly tackle new recipes together. Occasionally we will probably burn things or end up covered in flour, but hopefully more often than not, we will create something magical. Something that makes people stay at the table just a little longer and wraps them in a hug the way only a homemade meal can. I hope by sharing my passion with you, you will feel inspired to create something homemade for the special people in your life. Most of all, my wish is for you to return to my virtual kitchen again and again feeling like an old friend.
I am entirely self-taught, learning through lots (and lots) of trial and error. My kitchen continually looks like some sort of explosion happened and I have my share of Pinterest-fails. Join me as I chronicle my journey though the culinary world. I once set parchment paper on fire while baking cookies, so believe me when I say that if I can successfully make these recipes, so can YOU!
I currently reside in Ft. Wayne, Indiana spending my days rockin’ (trying to?) a messy bun and scrubs. I adore clichéd girly interests including: yoga, bubble baths, wineries, cheesy Hallmark movies, and all things pink and sparkly. I also enjoy sports, outdoor activities…hello, SPF 70, and travelling. Some of my favorite things are the most simple- sunsets over cornfields, freshly-picked peonies, and laughter with good friends.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a special part of my story. I sincerely hope to become part of yours as you make the recipes found here for the people you love most.
